Lynn’s Story
Having experienced life with a child who had a tracheostomy, I deeply understand the journey that families supported by S3 Kit are navigating. I’ve found in running that the suffering it causes is a small price to pay for the strength that I didn’t know I was capable of. My hope is that for the many families taking their child home from the hospital with a tracheostomy, they will also find a well of strength they didn’t know they had.
Running for a charity has been something that, for me, makes every mile meaningful. Running when you don’t want to, running longer than you feel capable of, and remembering the why through it all makes a big difference. On top of that, knowing the funds that I’m raising are going to a mission bigger than myself or any race I could do, is a blessing. It blesses me to know that people around me care about what I care about and see the passion in my why for running.
Running for S3 Kit has made that possible in more ways than one. Not just in raising funds, but in raising awareness and support for a cause bigger than myself.
